A 23-year-old Nanaimo man has been killed in an ATV accident.
RCMP say the young man was riding off-road with a group of friends on a logging road at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
As the victim rounded a corner he lost control and was thrown from the ATV into some nearby bushes. His friends were able to get him to a road, and call for help.
He was rushed to hospital, then airlifted to a Vancouver hospital -- but he died at 7 a.m.
The investigation will look at several things, including speed, terrain and the all terrain vehicle to determine contributing factors.
His name has not been released.
