Victoria's Homeless Partners Christmas Wish List program kicks off another year bringing thousands of gifts those living in the region's homeless shelters.
Volunteers and staff from Cool Aid have once again taken up the call to speak with their shelter guests, to share their stories and wish lists on the homelesspartners.com web site.
The public can access those stories and provide a personalized gift and message directly to the recipients through Cool Aid shelters.
Michelle Latour, Volunteer Administrator for Rock Bay Landing Shelter says the program helps reduce the stigma associated with homelessness.
"Because you are actually seeing a person as opposed to a statistic, or a group people like to refer as "them." So, you are actually getting to know people just a little bit by their stories."
After completing the forms with your personal message, you can drop off the gift(s) at the shelter location by Sunday, December 23 at 10 am.
Participating shelters include Rock Bay Landing in Burnside Gorge, Sandy Merriman House for women downtown, and Next Steps transitional shelter in North Park.
