World Juniors hockey action continues, but Canada only has one game over the weekend.
Team Canada has taken lead in the Group A, with a 2-0 record following their 3-2 win over Switzerland. Canada now has a 23-0-0 overall record against the Swiss team.
There are two more games scheduled in the preliminary round, but with the win, Canada has clinched a spot in the quarterfinals.
Play continues throughout the weekend, as the other teams look to lock down a quarterfinal spot in the tournament.
There are only two games on the ice on Friday, December 28:
- Russia (1-0-0) vs Czech Republic (0-1-0) in Vancouver at 5 pm
- USA (1-0-0) vs Kazakhstan (0-1-0) in Victoria at 7:30 pm
More hockey action continues on Saturday, December 29:
- Denmark (0-2-0) vs Switzerland (0-1-1) in Vancouver at 1 pm
- Slovakia (0-2-0) vs Finland (1-1-0) in Victoria at 3:30 pm

- Sweden (2-0-0) vs USA in Victoria at 7:30 pm

World Juniors action will continue into the following week, with quarterfinals beginning on Wednesday, January 2nd.
