A collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle caused lane closures on the Old Island Highway on Friday evening.
Sergeant Leigh with the West Shore RCMP says "A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. We are still investigating at this point. The analyst is in... a traffic analyst, kind of a re-construction analyst, so that will take a while."
Ambulances, Langford Fire trucks, and West Shore RCMP blocked off a majority of the road, but one lane was left open in both directions, allowing traffic to continue to move, although at a slower pace.
The pedestrian was brought to the hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
