West Shore RCMP saved a life on Christmas Eve.
Officers responded to a call of a 38 year old man who accidentally overdosed at 5:30 last night.
Officers, ambulances and the fire department were dispatched to the Langford residence, and learned from the man's roommate, who was performing CPR, that he had ingested heroine and became unresponsive.
RCMP officers administered two doses of Naloxone, and the man, who had stopped breathing altogether, gradually woke up. He was taken to the hospital for further care.
Cst. Saagar with the West Shore RCMP says without the fast responses of police, ambulance, fire department, and the roommate who performed CPR, the man would not have survived to see another Christmas.
Saagar thanks all the parties involved in saving the man, and wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday.
