West Shore RCMP have shown they're not afraid to get their hands a little dirty.
Police say officers responded to a call from a farmer in Metchosin on Wednesday night after a bear attacked her pigs.
Already dealing with darkness, heavy rain, and deep mud, the farmer was frantically trying to wrangle her pigs into a secure pen, but she struggled with the swine, as they were too shell shocked to actually move.
So the mounties sprung into action, spending a considerable amount of time helping the farmer round the pigs up. One of the officers even had to get down in the mud to persuade a particularly large and headstrong pig that it should relocate, which it ultimately did.
