West Shore RCMP say the Ministry of Children and Families had to be notified after an impaired driver was found to have a baby in the car.
Officers were called around 10pm Sunday after witnesses reported a vehicle with 2 women and a small baby inside swerving and slamming into parked cars on Sooke Rd in Langford.
A breath sample determined the driver was above the legal limit. She was issued a 90 day Roadside Prohibition and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Cst. Matt Baker says fortunately no one was injured in the incident. Baker adds drivers should find safe ways home if they've been drinking. Police across region will be increasing roadblocks and sobriety checks over the Christmas season.
