There are 4 fewer prolific offenders on the street thanks to West Shore RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit.
The arrests took place over 3 days. The first, on October 18th saw 32 year old Layton Stearns of Langford arrested for driving while prohibited and for breach of recognizance. Stearns is well known to police and was convicted and sentenced to 6 months in jail, also receiving a fine and 2 year driving prohibition.
The next day, October 19th, RCMP nabbed 25 year old Dezmond White following a foot chase on Gorge Rd East. White was wanted out of Central Saanich for Driving while Prohibited.
Then on October 20th the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit was conducting a drug investigation and arrested 30 year old James Houston and 24 year old Tyler Wardrope, both of no fixed address.
RCMP seized multiple baggies of suspected marijuana, heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine and a quantity of suspected MDMA and prescription medication. A large sum of money was also seized. Both men were charged on multiple criminal charges. They are well known to police and have been remanded in custody.
