K9 officer Erik found a baggie of cannabis hidden under a rock, in a field near an elementary school
A West Shore K9 officer and his handler made an interesting find while on patrol near Lakewood Elementary School.
Erik, a 6 year old German Shephard, and his and handler, Cpl Sansome, were in a field when the dog alerted to something.
Erik guided his partner to the base of a tree, where a bag of cannabis was hidden under a rock.
The officer left a card to say where the pot is.
RCMP are reminding pot users that while Cannabis is legal, leaving it in a place where children and animals have access to it it poses a risk to their safety.
Meantime, because Erik is a good dog -- he's getting extra treats this morning.
