A special noon-hour event on Friday at Victoria's mosque on Quadra Street -- is being called a gesture of love and solidarity for the Muslim community.
Members of the local Sikh community will form a human protective chain around Masjid Al-Iman, to mark the mass shootings at two mosques in New Zealand one week ago.
The community says bigotry will not be tolerated.
They say the human shield will be a physical barrier of protection for those feeling persecuted and vulnerable following the horrors last week.
