It seems some dog owners just aren't getting the message.
Victoria Police say they responded to two dogs in distress in a vehicle Thursday afternoon. Victoria Police Cst. Matt Rutherford has more on what happened.
"There were two huskies, both were in great distress--one had defecated in the vehicle. Animal Control used their temperature readings, and it was 38 degrees in the car and 32 degrees on one the dog's snouts. So it's completely unacceptable this day and age to be leaving your dogs in vehicles."
Rutherford says the dogs were in the vehicle for about a half an hour. The animals were turned over to Animal Control, but are back with their owner.
The owner has been fined by Animal Control.
