Almost 2 weeks after the Las Vegas shootings a young Victoria man badly injured in the massacre has returned home. 21-year-old Sheldon Mack was flown back Wednesday via a Medivac flight.
The young man was shot twice when a gunman holed up on the 32nd floor of a hotel began shooting into a crowd of concert-goers killing 58 people, and injuring more than 500 on October 1st. Mack was rushed to hospital by 2 rescuers, and had to undergo surgery to repair a ruptured colon and injured forearm.
His father, former CTV Vancouver Island News Anchor Hudson Mack, says his son is making excellent progress and will continue his medical treatment and recovery here.
A GoFundMe campaign raised over $27,000 to cover the family’s medical and travel expenses.
