A Victoria man who shared photos on Facebook of a person feeding bears Tim Bits is being charged, along with his companion.
The photos were posted by Randy Scott, and include a picture of a large amount of Tim Bits donuts, and photos of bears being hand fed from a car window.
The caption boasts " thousand timbits reading for bear feeding."
While the face of the person feeding the bears can't be seen, a tattooed arm is clearly visible.
BC Conservation Services says Scott will face one count of feeding or attempting to feed dangerous wildlife, along with a co-accused, Megan Hiltz.
The services posted news of the charge on its Facebook page, saying the Peace Region office received complaints about individuals posting pictures on social media showing bears being unlawfully fed.
The service confirms charges have now been laid under the BC Wildlife Act, and 2 individuals are scheduled to appear in Fort Nelson Court on Nov 5th.
Meantime, CTV News Vancouver Island reports it's not the first time Scott has attracted trouble over a social media post.
In 2013 he was charged with dangerous driving after he posted video of a motorcycle moving at nearly 300 kilometres an hour in Greater Victoria. But because it could not be proved he was driving Scott was acquitted.
Police also seized his Lamborghini in 2015 when he was caught going twice the posted speed limit on the Trans-Canada Highway in Saanich.
