An arrest has been made after a sexual assault at an Esquimalt park this week.
Police are recommending a charge that carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. Victoria police say they arrested a 40-year old Esquimalt man last night in connection with a sexual assault on Tuesday night at Highrock Park. Few details of the assault have been released, but police have said he victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
VicPD says they are now recommending several charges, including aggravated sexual assault, which is reserved for someone who wounds, maims, disfigures, or endangers the life of a victim in the process of a sexual assault.
