VicPD has wrapped up an investigation into the needle pricking incident involving a toddler at the McDonalds on Pandora Avenue last week
Officers were able to identify the syringe user through interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage. The person who improperly discarded the needle has cooperated with VicPD.
It's been determined that the syringe was being used for a medical purpose, and was not placed with any malicious intent.
Police warn the incident should serve as a reminder to dispose of needles in an appropriate receptacle so as to prevent dangerous consequences - as was the case in this incident.
The investigation continues into the needle incident outside a hair salon on Johnson Street where a syringe was placed in the earth needle side up.
