Victoria Police is asking for the publics help in identifying a suspected bike thief, and return an elderly man's brand new electric bicycle.
Officers were called to a residential building in the 600-block of Toronto street on Tuesday for a report of a theft, with the incident and suspect caught on camera.
The victim, an elderly man, reported that he bought the electric-assist bike the day before. He told police that the bike is essential to his ability to get around town. The stolen electric-assist bicycle is a black Raleigh Sprite IE Electric.
The theft was caught on CCTV, when the suspect allegedly entered the locked bike area after gaining access to the building's parking area.
The suspect is a Caucasian male, approximately 45 years old, with a slim to medium build and about 6 feet tall.
At the time of the theft, he was wearing a blue parka-style jacket, a shiny black bike helmet with a dark baseball cap underneath, blue jeans and hiking shoes.
