A vessel owned by the same company involved in the deadly sinking of a whale watching vessel last year near Tofino ran aground and partially sank on Saturday night.
In a statement to C-FAX1070, Gilles Verrett with the Canadian Coast Guard says the vessel "Stellar Sea" struck bottom near Warn Bay which is east of Tofino.
All the people were safely taken off the boat but the CCG could not confirm how many people were on board at the time.
A crew then boomed the vessel and plugged fuel vents.
There have been no reports of pollution.
The Stellar Sea is owned and operated by Jamie’s Whaling Station, whose whale-watching boat sank near Tofino last year, claiming six lives.
The Coast Guard says the vessel's owners are making plans to salvage the boat.
