City officials say a section of Esquimalt Road near Tyee has re-opened to traffic.
Problems began at 7 am Monday morning when a water main burst at Esquimalt and Tyee Road sending water gushing down the roadway.
The Johnson Street Bridge was closed for over 2 hours at the start of the incident.
The city's Head of Engagement, Bill Eisenhauer, says road work and asphalt repairs wrapped up late last night.
It was originally thought nearby homes and businesses were affected by the break -- but crews determined water service was not disrupted..
