Victoria police are asking for information after a cyclist reported hundreds of thumb tacks hidden under leaves spread over 4.5 meres (15 feet) of the Galloping Goose trail Wednesday.
Susan Hollis says her tire was punctured by a number of tacks on a section of trail near the Saanich-Victoria border.
Hollis says she thinks they were put there intentionally, and she isn't the only cyclist who encountered them.
VicPd's Cnst Matt Rutherford says a report of tacks on the Galloping Goose was received, but due to the call load no officer was dispatched.
However public works was called out to clean up the tacks.
Rutherford says they don't have any information suggesting malicious intent -- but anyone with information is asked to VicPd.
