After being evicted from Oak Bay's Cattle Point they group loaded their belongings onto a U-Haul and headed for Songhees Park near the Delta Ocean Pointe. The group arrived in Oak Bay's Cattle Point Park Wednesday night, but were issued an order to vacate Thursday and Oak Bay police enforced the order Friday.
Chrissy Brett says they chose the park for a particular reason -- so that Premier Horgan can see them from the legislature. The homeless campers set up in Songhees Park last year, and Brett is once again inviting the premier and area mayors to visit the camp and have a discussion about housing the homeless.
But after spending less than 24 hours there, the campers have now moved to Woodwynn Farms in Saanich. Woodwynn Farms was purchased through B.C. Housing this past summer with the intent of once again provide services for Greater Victoria's most vulnerable population as a therapeutic recovery community.
