The Trans-Canada Highway was closed near Leigh Road for several hours Sunday after a head-on collision.
West Shore RCMP say the crash happened just after 1pm, resulting in life-threatening injuries to an undisclosed number of people in the two vehicles involved. An RCMP statement said only that “this collision resulted in serious life-threatening injuries.” It’s believed four people were taken to the hospital.
Traffic was detoured onto the West Shore Parkway and the Leigh Road overpass until 6pm as crash analysts worked the scene.
The RCMP say they will provide an update later Monday.
