The US Coast Guard responded to a call for assistance for a Victoria-based whale watching boat off the coast of Washington State today.
Eagle Wing Tours confirmed to CTV Vancouver Island that one its vessels struck a rock near Smith island and began to take on water.
The vessel was carrying 43 tourists and 4 crew members, and the company says there are no serious injuries.
The boat was beached on Smith Island, and while Island County and Coast guard crews headed out to deal with the vessel, Eagle Wing sent out two other boats to pick up the tourists.
