Investigators say a 2-vehicle crash that closed the intersection of Fifth Street and Henry Avenue in Sidney Monday morning was caused when the driver of an SUV failed to come to a full stop and was struck by a pickup truck belonging to the Town of Sidney.
After interviewing witnesses it was determined the driver of the eastbound SUV did not complete a full stop at the intersection, and the driver of the northbound pickup truck couldn't stop in time to avoid hitting the SUV, causing it to roll onto its side.
All involved were checked out on scene by BC Ambulance, and were okay. The driver of the SUV was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
