Victoria Police say they have taken two people into custody after a drug investigation led to a response by the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT).
Police say they attended a unit in a multi-unit residential building in the 3000-block of Douglas Street just after 11 a.m. Tuesday for a drug investigation.
Upon arrival, officers noted a strong odour seeming to come from one of units. Concerned for the safety and well-being of those in the area, several units were evacuated. Additional resources, including the GVERT, as well as Victoria Fire and BC Ambulance Service were activated and attended.
The two persons inside were taken into custody without incident.
There were no injuries.
