Saanich Police are investigating two armed robberies that targeted convenient stores over the weekend
At 5:15am on Saturday, a man entered the 711 at 10 Burnside Road East, brought out a gun, and demanded the employee hand over the money from the till.
The suspect is described as a 40 year old Caucasian male wearing a black leather jacket over a hoody, with dark pants and shoes, and sunglasses. He fled on foot heading west on Burnside Road.
The second robbery happened at about 4:30 on Sunday morning, at the 7-11 at 3775 Carey Road. Two suspects, a man and a woman wearing bandanas over their faces, produced a gun and demanded the cash in the till.
The man is described as Caucasian, between 25-30 year old, standing about 5'8"with a skinny build. The woman is tall, between 6' and 6'3", and she was wearing a black jacket with a D/C logo.
In both of these robberies, the suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes, and there were no injuries.
The police have not yet identified the suspects, and have not ruled out that they might be connected. Both scenes were examined by the Forensic Identification Team, and detectives have taken over the investigation.
