The Tugwell Creek fire is in a "mop up phase" according to the BC Wildfire Service.
Fire information officer Dorthe Jakobsen says this means there may not be visible flames, but they're monitoring the area to ensure there isn't a fire burning under the surface.
“With that amount of fuel on the ground it can burn under, so you can’t see it, and then it can flare up,” Jakobsen said. “That’s what they’re working on, making sure all the hot spots are gone.”
The fire at its largest grew to 84 hectares, and was listed as 100 per cent contained on July 8.
