After a Victoria Flying Club Plane crashed near Duncan Thursday, Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived on scene Friday morning.
Bill Yearwood with the TSB says they've gathered some preliminary information. For instance, weather was fair at the time of the crash. Also, Yearwood says the Duncan Airport where the plane was trying to land is known to be "challenging for those who have not operated there before."
Yearwood says investigators will now learn what they can from the wreckage, for example looking for evidence of an aerodynamic stall or an engine failure.
The Cessna 172 clipped power lines as it went down with an instructor and student onboard. They were taken to the Victoria General Hospital for treatment. Yearwood says he doesn't know their exact conditions, but he says the student was able to get up and walk around after the crash and the instructor was in worse shape
