Saanich police had to deal with a 3 vehicle crash on the Pat Bay Highway just after 6:30 am Wednesday. Emergency crews were called to the scene at the McKenzie Avenue overpass.
According to police a southbound vehicle rear-ended another car, pushing it into the centre concrete median.
A piece of the median was then pushed over into a north bound lane, where it was struck by a northbound vehicle.
Three people were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
The highway had to be closed for a time to allow the vehicles to be removed, and to put the concrete median back in place.
