Three fires in the 2000Block of Frederick Norris Road over a 3 day period investigated
Three fires in the 2000 Block of Frederick Norris Road over a 3 day period have raised concern in the District of Oak Bay.
Chief Constable Andy Britton says the first was a car on fire in a carport Tuesday morning. Oak Bay Fire Department was able to put it out. But then ....
" In the meantiime 2 days later on Thursday the 26th there were 2 fires on the same street. Both we feel were set."
Britton says a small wood pile was found ablaze in a carport, and a wooden compost box in the backyard of the same house where the car fire had taken place a small wood pile was found to be on fire in the carport of a different residence during the noon hour on Thursday. Both were extinguished with garden hoses. Oak Bay Fire attended to try to determine a cause.
Britton says the neighbourhood has been notified of the cincern. Britton says any information on suspicious activity should be reported. Meantime he says investigators are checking out what they consider a promising lead.
