Suspect in 2 incidents near Saanich Centre has a "propensity for violence" according to police

Michael Godolphin, 37, was involved in 3 hour stand in Langford last year

A man Saanich police are looking for in connection to 2 incidents at and near the Saanich Centre yesterday (Tues) has a history of violent behaviour.   Police used surveillance video to identify 37 year old Michael Godolphin.  He is alleged to have pulled a handgun on a London Drugs loss prevention officer, and then robbed a cyclist of an electric bike on Lochside trail.

Acting Sgt Jereme Leslie says investigators are very familiar with Godolphin:

"This individual, he's shown a propensity for violence and he's extremely unpredictable.  And it was demonstrated last year by his behaviour in Langford when he actually had a 3 hour standoff with the emergency response team there, while he was waving what appeared to be a firearm at that time. "

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who has information on Godolphin's whereabouts after 1:30 yesterday.

Godolphin is 37, stands 5'7" tall, and weighs 175 pounds. .He has a shaved head, a tear drop tattoo under his right eye, and a written tattoo encircling the back of his neck. Do not approach him. Call 9-1-1 if you see him.
