Sooke RCMP had to draw their weapons in a residential neighbourhood during the noon hour Tuesday.
Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur says officers were called to George Lane for a report of a suspicious vehicle that had been stolen out of Nanaimo:
" And as our members were on the way down there to investigate they learned the plate came back stolen, as well the complainant could see someone waving a pistol out the window."
Arriving on scene officers conducted a "high-risk vehicle stop" and took the 3 occupants into custody without incident.
A search turned up a small quantity of methamphetamine, brass knuckles, balaclavas and a pellet pistol -- a replica which looks identical to a real pistol.
Two Nanaimo men, aged 28 and 29 were held in custody -- and are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Colwood. The third, a man with mobility issues, was released without charge after it was determined he was just getting a ride home from the other two.
Charges being recommended include weapons possession, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and various breach charges.
