Snow was falling on the Malahat Monday morning with some other areas of Greater Victoria, such as Sooke and Langford, reporting flurries at higher elevations.
CFAX and CTV Meteorologist Astrid Braunshmidt says a snowfall warning is posted for eastern Vancouver Island, including Victoria, "in part because even 5 centimeters of snow is kind of a big deal for us on the Island. It's not for other parts of the country, but that's why we have this warning in effect."
Shawnigan, Cowichan, Nanaimo and the mid Island seemed to get the most snow Monday morning. More flurries are possible Monday night.
Braunshmidt says there's another good chance for snow Wednesday night into Thursday. "Right now it’s a good little start. Then we get clear Tuesday and most of the day Wednesday. But Wednesday night it's down to about minus 3 or so and the precipitation is coming back in with that cold air in place. Looks like we've got another round of snow coming our way."
Braunshmidt was speaking with C-FAX 1070's Al Ferraby this morning.
