The Victoria Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) says three children and three adults were rescued from a boat in the Sooke basin after a mayday call on Tuesday afternoon.
The Centre says they got the distress call from a 23 foot vessel in the Sooke Harbour at around 2:00pm.
Coast Guard and Search and Rescue boats was able to get out there quickly and rescue the occupants of the boat and no medical treatment was needed.
The JRCC says it's unclear exactly why the boat took on water, but it could have been because it ran aground on a sand bar.
