A search is underway on the Cowichan River for a missing 28 year year old Duncan man.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP Cnst. Pam Bolton says the search was activated after a call came in at 10:40 Thursday night.
" We received a call for help indicating that there was a male that had been in the waters of the Cowichan River near Quamichan Road West. So we activated, obviously the RCMP went out, we called in the North Cowichan fire department and Search and Rescue.
The waters of the Cowichan River are reported to be dangerous at this time.
It's hoped Ethan Sampson made it out on his own, and RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen him to give them a call.
Sampson is described as a First Nations male, about 5 foot 6 inches tall, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing jeans with the pant legs rolled up.
