Just before 3pm today Saanich Police were called to the Camosun College Lansdowne campus for reports of a man wearing fatigues and carrying a handgun.
Police say they were on scene within 4 minutes and arrested a 28 year old Victoria man quickly without incident. They also seized an imitation firearm.
Acting Sgt. Jeremy Leslie is reminding people that "carrying an imitation firearm is extremely dangerous, even at Halloween" adding that "responding to this incident put many people at possible risk."
Police are recommending one charge of having possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The suspect will appear in court in mid-December.
