Saanich police are asking any witnesses to contact them after a collision last night that left a pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Police say a black 1999 Chevrolet Tracker was being driven east on Cedar Hill Cross Road when the driver may have suffered a medical event.
The vehicle then crossed into oncoming traffic, hit a pedestrian on a sidewalk, and plowed through a fence, eventually stopping in a yard at the corner of Cedar Hill Cross Road and Marjean Place.
Police say the driver remained on scene until they arrived. The pedestrian -- a 20-year old man -- has been hospitalized with critical injuries.
