The man who filmed a disturbing road rage incident in Saanich yesterday says he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Guus Alferink says he was trying to leave the Saanich Plaza via Ravine Way and noticed traffic being held up, heard a lot of honking going on, and thought something was about to happen -- so he started filming.
He was 1 car back from the vehicle that was targeted by an angry white male who forced open the car door and began punching the man inside, sparking a fight.
"Like I said, I've never seen this before. And I was pretty shocked to see how, you know, how violent I guess this got. I man, to resort to this kind of violence after something probably minor. I'm not sure what happened before hand, but this seemed like a pretty strong reaction to the other driver. It's pretty shocking in a way because, you know, this never really happens in Victoria."
Alefrink shared his video with police. At last checked it had been viewed over 157,000 times.
Police say neither participant wanted charges laid, so the case has been closed. As for what motivated the incident, that has not been revealed.
