It looks like motorists upset with long wait times entering the Malahat from Langford will just have to get used to the delays.
The province says the work for the $34 million road improvement project on the Malahat has to be done during the day.
“We have to do a significant amount of blasting. For the blasting work to be done safely, it needs to be done in hours where we have the light to be able to do it," says Jannelle Erwin with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
Motorists reported delays of up to two hours trying to go from Langford the summit of the Malahat this over the weekend.
The work isn't expected to be completed until the fall of next year.
