As the BC Legislature wrapped up its fall sitting Premier John Horgan says one of the highlights is getting ride hailing legislation passed.
Horgan says while it's been characterized by the Opposition Liberals as the NDP deliberately trying to stop transformation in the passenger transportation sector, the Liberals had 5 years to do something about it.
Horgan says his government worked with stakeholders and communities, put forward legislation, amended it, then passed it.
" I think that is an extraordinary accomploishment, and it's unfortunate that it's been diminished by partisan hectoring by a group of people who claim to have always wanted to do it, they just couldn't get around to it. Five years they didn't get around to it."
Another major highlight for Horgan, L-N-G Canada's confirmation it will go ahead with plans to build a $40-billion export terminal at Kitimat.
