It's a day many reserve for quiet reflection. Thousands in the Capital Region will pay their respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in world wars by participating in Remembrance Day ceremonies.
Ceremonies taking place at various locations around the Capital Region include the City of Victoria Cenotaph at the foot of Government and Belleville Streets on the grounds of the BC legislature.
In Langford, an Aboriginal Remembrance Day ceremony will be held in Goldstream Park. Other ceremonies are being held in Sidney at Town Hall, Saanich at Municipal Hall on Vernon Avenue, Oak Bay at the War Memorial on Beach Drive at Uplands Park and Esquimalt at the Memorial Park Cenotaph at 1229 Esquimalt Road.
The Royal Canadian Air Force will conduct flybys across the country. Those in BC include Sidney, Campbell River, Comox and Courtenay.
