The court has granted residents of a tent city in Regina Park more time to prepare their materials for court. The case has been adjourned for 2 weeks -- and will resume on August 27th.
The District of Saanich and the Province of B.C. are seeking an enforcement order to get the residents of the encampment to cease continual camping in the park, and to vacate a highway right of way for safety reasons.
In granting the extra time for campers to mount their case, the court also issued a fire order giving tent city residents 72 hours to comply with an order from the Fire Commissioners's Office, which was served to the District of Saanich on June 29th.
Since the camp started up 4 months ago 100 people have set up camp on the site.
