Quadra Island is following Tofino's lead asking visitors not to come during this COVID19 pandemic.
The threat of exposure to the coronavirus has the Regional Director for Quadra Island urging visitors to change their travel plans.
Strathcona Electoral Area "C" Director, Jim Abram, says the small community doesn't have the resources to deal with an outbreak that may be unknowingly brought in by a visitor:
" Right now we are, you Know, a sort of an end of the road destination. We have limited resources, we have limited medical resources. And we are just not in a position to do anything other than what our Chief Medical officer is asking us to do, and that is stay safe, stay home."
Abram encourages anyone currently visiting Quadra Island to cut their visit short -- and anyone planning a visit to change their plans and come another time, after the pandemic is over.
