The province's environment minister says no further issues have been detected at a contaminated soil dumping site near Shawnigan Lake.
Mary Polak's staff issued a Pollution Prevention Order to the Cobble Hill Holdings' site on Stebbings Road last week after heavy rain eroded a sand cover, leading to water making contact with contaminated soil and then discharging into the surrounding environment.
"It was contact water, yes, and it wouldn't have been treated. Having said that, there's no evidence that resulted in contamination of anyone's drinking water, or contamination of the lake, or anything of that nature."
Polak says Cobble Hill Holdings quickly adhered the order, and did what was necessary to prevent further discharging of contact water.
She says she was updated last night, and staff say there were no further problems on site despite a significant amount of rain and wind over the weekend.
