The province says there will be an opportunity to learn more about a safety improvement project on the Malahat at an information session next week.
The ministry of transportation announced in July that $34-million dollars has been set aside for safety upgrades on the Malahat Village portion of the highway, between Aspen Road and Shawnigan Lake Road.
The project will include widening another five kilometers of the Malahat to allow for four-lanes, and adding over three kilometers of median barriers. The work will start next year with completion expected in 2018.
An information session announced today is set for next Thursday from 3:30 to 7:30 at Brentwood College in Mill Bay. The ministry of transportation says staff will be available to discuss details and answer questions.
