Seaspan Shipyards is still searching for answers after the fisheries science vessel it built for the Canadian Coast Guard ran into the breakwater at Ogden Point on Friday.
The Canadian Coast Guard's newest ship - the Sir-John-Franklin - is sporting a major dent in it's stern.
According to the Brian Cant, with the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, the new vessel took the brunt of the collision.
"Damage to the breakwater is fairly superficial. It's just a little bit of concrete on the north side, on the edge, but we'll have divers inspect the below-water line on Tuesday in an abundance of caution."
An independent investigation will look at the factors that caused the collision.
