The Oak Bay Police Department is reminding commuters to stay calm and to not to take matters into your own hands, following an altercation last week.
A vehicle towing a trailer cut off a cyclist near Cadboro Bay Road and Cedar Hill Cross Road last Monday.
When the cyclist approached the driver's side window to have a few words with him, the driver punched the cyclist in the face.
The assault is under investigation.
The OBPD say if you feel you've been wronged on the road, it's wiser to note the licence plate and contact the police to speak to the other individual involved.
