VICTORIA -- A man is now in custody after Victoria Police responded to a breach of conditions call that turned into a several-hours long stand-off.
VicPD Patrol & GVERT officers responded to the incident late Friday night, at a multi-unit residential building in the 700-block of Pandora Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered a man in a suite with another person whom he was ordered to have no contact with.
This would lead to hours of efforts by police negotiators, which would fail, as the man refused to give himself up peaceably. A warrant was then obtained by police, and GVERT officers entering the suite and arresting the man.
The man -- whose name and age has not yet been released -- was arrested without injury, evaluated by BCEHS paramedics, and is now being held for court. The other occupant of the suite was unharmed during the incident.
