A sunny follow-up to a Snow Day. But don't put the shovel away yet, Old Man Winter may just be taking a breather.
It was a messy, slow commute Thursday morning, with some neighborhoods cleaning up to 10 cm of snow that fell for over 10 hours on Wednesday.
Many sidewalks are still icy or snow covered, and BC Transit officials warn buses may not stop for passengers waiting at stops on hilly areas if road conditions are icy.
On the heels of the wintery blast, Environment Canada has issued another Special Weather Statement for Greater Victoria.
It's calling for anywhere from 2 to 10 cm of wet snow or rain beginning tomorrow morning.
A second disturbance is expected to move through the region on Friday night, with a strong possibility of more flurries.
Environment Canada senior climatologist David Phillips says looking forward, you should brace for March to be more lion - than lamb.
"We're not going to go from 'slush to sweat'." said Phillips. "I know you don't want to hear that, but our models are saying it will be cooler than normal in March."
In the meantime, Victoria's Extreme Weather Protocol is now active, with shelters open across the city for people in need of a warm place to stay.
