An investigation by Victoria Police has ended with no charges being laid in connection with a fatal collision between a transport truck and a 73 - year old cyclist.
On March 29 th of last year officers were called to the intersection of Government and Fisgard for a report that a female cyclist had been struck by a truck. Despite the life-saving efforts of emergency personnel, the woman succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators.
The investigation included the collision reconstruction team, traffic section, patrol, forensic officers and investigative services detectives. Witnesses were interviewed and the evidence weighed. The end result, no charges are being sworn.
The victim was well-known in the community for her volunteer work. Police say their thoughts remain with her family and loved ones and those affected by the tragic incident.
