The new liquor laws in the province come into effect on Monday and there are quite of few changes.
Amongst the biggest changes, the selling of liquor will be permitted at certain grocery stores.
Businesses like art galleries, barbershops, salons, book stores and non-traditional drinking establishments can apply for a liquor primary license.
Also, businesses can also apply for a special event permit to reduce the red tape involving in organizing events and festivals.
The B.C. government says the changes came after 73 recommendations were made in a liquor policy review.
The changes are part of B.C.’s years-long effort to modernize outdated liquor laws.
